What’s in season?! We live in a climate that allows us to enjoy fresh greens, veggies, and fruits for a large portion of the year. This month (August) we should have green beans, butter beans, cabbage, cantaloupes, grapes, leafy greens, okra, peaches, peas, squash, tomatoes, watermelon, and perhaps corn and peppers still, and definitely peanuts and sweet potatoes (in season year-round). Find at least one “in season” ingredient for your dish this potluck and highlight it on your ingredients list or recipe card. Let’s hit the farmers market or co-op and see what we can make!
The purpose of this event is to make (or purchase) a new or favorite dish to share with others, get together and socialize with other like-minded folks, and enjoy small samples of the yummy vegan dishes everyone else brings. Please bring a good amount of food to share and extra if you’re bringing children or there’s more than one person in your party.
Bring a list of ingredients along with your dish (or even better, the recipe!) Remember: this is a vegan safe-space event and DISHES MUST BE 100% VEGAN, with no meat, no fish, no milk, no butter, no eggs, no chicken stock, no honey, and so on. Please ask if you have any questions. Please also bring YOUR OWN UTENSILS, BOWL, PLATE and drink. This is a 100% WASTE-FREE EVENT which means we are not generating any trash – please bring only reusable items, no paper or plastic. Alcohol is permitted.
Our potlucks take place the THIRD SUNDAY of the month at 5:30pm at the Kitchen & Lounge Community Building at South Front Apartments. Use the gate located on Greenfield Street at 2nd Street, across the street from Satellite Bar. PARKING: Drive straight in all the way to the end of the road and turn right to find parking. Parking is permitted only in the spaces without numbers. After parking, walk over to the lounge located at the center of the complex. The lounge entrance is on the opposite side (facing Front St).
